TA _ THE USE OF FLASHCARD TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY (A case of Kindergarten Kalvari Mnelalete Semester 11)
ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to improve student’s vocabulary mastery. In gathering the data, classroom action research was applied in Kalvari Mnelalete kindergarten to teach students vocabulary using flashcard. The researcher wants to measure how effective the use of flashcard is in learning vocabulary. There were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting conducted in one cycle of Classroom Action Research. Findings showed that, using flashcard to improve students’ vocabulary mastery was helpful. It was proven by the score gained in pre-test that was 3.20% of achievement was significantly developed to 6.10% of improvement. Through the percentage in both the pre-test and post-test, we can see that the participants were able to solve their problem in learning vocabulary. They were able to memorize the word based on the picture on the flashcard they saw. Therefore flashcard is considered effective for teaching vocabulary to students.
