TA _ EFL STUDENTS’ STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE VOCABULARIES IN CRITICAL READING CLASS: The Case of 2nd Semester Students at English Education Program of STKIP SoE
Abstract
This research attempts to find out students’ strategies to improve their vocabularies size in Critical Reading class of second semester students at English Education Program of STKIP SoE. A descriptive qualitative method used in this research, through interview statements, there were 21 students filled the interview statements. The result of this research showed that students mostly apply strategies to improve their vocabularies which are; listening to the songs, watching movie, reading, and list of difficult words. In conclude Through four strategies above students can obtain their vocabularies by themselves while students understand the word in foreign language, repeat the words in several times, describe the conversation in mother tongue, pick word when reading books, remember the words that they get and write down the difficult words.
