TA _ THE USE OF SONG TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SKILL IN TRANSLATION (A CASE OF FOUR SEMESTERS IN ENGLISH EDUCATION OF STKIP SOE)
Abstract
This journal aimed to analyze the improvement of students’ translation by using song lyrics. There were 16 students of four semesters in English Department of STKIP SoE as the participants. The researcher used Classroom Action Research as the method and collects the data by using test, in the form of pre-test, post-test and observation checklist for the students. The result of this study indicated that using song lyrics and semantic translation strategy can improve students’ skill in translation. Their improvement covered, the students translated semantically and being able to translate the song lyrics.
