TA _ “THE ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH COLLOCATION IN STUDENTS ABSTRACT OF THESIS WRITING”

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out the types of English collocations and error collocation found in 56 abstracts of thesis writing at Institut Pendidikan SoEThe data was analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method, allowing for a thorough and detailed presentation of the findings. The findings of the research revealed two main types of collocation; grammatical and lexical, with illustrative examples presented for each category. There were 3 error collocation found in students’ abstract specifically in Grammatical collocation.The data analysis emphasizes the importance of collocation accuracy in academic writing. In summary, this research reveals various of English collocations employed by students in their thesis abstracts and offered some practical advice for IPS and future researchers.
