TA _ THE USE OF YOUTUBE VIDEO IN IMPROVING STUDENTS SPEAKING ENGLISH SKILL IN SMP NEGERI NOEMUKE
Abstract
The research aimed to find out students‟ problems in speaking English and the strategies used to overcome the problems by using YouTube video. This is a quantitative research. with 23 students of SMPN Noemuke VIII grade as the participants. The material designed was simple present tense ( Habitual action ). The scope in this research focus on how the use of YouTube video can improve students speaking English skill in VIII grade at Noemuke Junior High School after learning using YouTube video. The instruments used were test and observation checklist. In the pre-test the researcher ask the students to tell their habitual action before they are going to school in in front of the class. In the post-test students were given a
short video YouTube about habitual action and after they watched the video the research let the students to list their habitual action and present it in front the class. The research got table value from mean score of pretest 69.26 and mean score of post-test 74.30. It shows that YouTube video has significant effect to improved students speaking English skill.
