TA _ MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA SISWA DENGAN PENDEKATAN KONTEKSTUAL

Abstract
This study aims to improve students’ mathematical concept understanding ability with a contextual approach. The method used is a quantitative method with a pre-experimental model designed in the form of one group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri Sakteo as many as 2 classes and a sample of one class, namely classVIII.b which was determined by simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used in this study was a test of students mathematical concept understanding ability. The instrument used is a test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the form of essay questions consisting of pre-test and post-test questions which are arranged on indicators of ability to understand mathematical concepts. The data analysis teacnique used was a paired sample t-test with the results ????ℎ???????????????????? = -35,955 < ???????????????????????? = 1,729, then there is an increase in students’ ability to understand mathematical cocepts. The results of the study showed that was an increase in students’ mathematical abilities with a gain normality score of 0.46 so that it was said that the increase in students; mathematical concept understanding ability was in the moderate category.

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dengan pendekatan kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan model pre-experimental yang didesain dalam bentuk one group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri Sakteo sebanyak 2 kelas dan sampel sebanyak satu kelas yaitu kelas VIII.B yang ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah bentuk tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis
berbentuk soal uraian yang terdiri dari soal pre-test dan post-test yang disusun berdasarkan indikator kemampuan kemahaman konsep matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji t-sampel berpasangan dengan hasil ????ℎ???????????????????? = -35,955 < ???????????????????????? = 1,729, maka terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan matematis siswa dengan skor gain normalitas sebesar 0,46 sehingga dikatakan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa berada pada kategori sedang.
