TA _ USING TIKTOK VIDEO TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL IN DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS IN SMA KRISTEN 2 SOE
BSTRACT
This study aimed to describe the improvement of students’ speaking skill in a descriptive text after learning using TikTok video. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with 20 eleventh-grade students at SMA Kristen 2 Soe as the participants. The study was conducting to solve issues such as limited vocabulary, grammatical difficulties, and pronunciation problems. The CAR approach involved four main steps: Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. Data were gathered through pre-tests, post-tests, and observations. The results showed significant improvement on students’ speaking skills where the students’ average scores increased from 60.6 in the pre-test to 68.0 in the first post-test and 75.6 in the second post-test. By the end of the study, 80% of the students achieved the minimum passing score. It means that TikTok videos were effective in improving their speaking skills as well as to overcome students’ learning problems in speaking a descriptive text.
